To a National Movement.
For me, growing up, the philosophy was simple: food is medicine.
I was raised in a family deeply rooted in science, wellness, and beauty. My grandmother was a renowned Russian microbiologist who studied under Nobel Prize-winning scientist Élie Metchnikoff, widely known as the father of probiotics, and my father is a biomedical doctor. From an early age, I was taught that true health begins in the gut. My mother, who was a top model, also instilled in me the connection between wellness, vitality, and beauty.
Growing up, kefir was a daily ritual in our home and a foundational part of my health from an early age. It was never viewed as a trend or supplement; it was simply part of how we lived and cared for ourselves.
When I moved to the United States, I could no longer find a kefir comparable to what I grew up with, and I felt the difference almost immediately. My body didn’t feel the same, and I realized how deeply connected I was to this ritual that had been part of my life for as long as I could remember. So, I began making my own kefir using the scientific approach I learned from my family.
What started as a personal ritual eventually became the foundation for Kefir Lab.
I developed the concept for Kefir Lab during my master’s program in Disruptive Innovation and International Business. As a certified nutritionist, with additional studies in food science, fermentation, and the chemistry of cooking through Harvard programs, I work directly with Italian laboratories to create formulas rooted in both ancestral wisdom and modern science.
From the very beginning, my vision was clear: if I was going to create a product, it had to be dramatically better than anything else on the market.
Today, Kefir Lab is built with 100 trillion live probiotics, featuring strains sourced primarily from European laboratories and independently third-party tested for quality and efficacy.
More than a probiotic drink, Kefir Lab is my vision for a modern wellness ritual rooted in European fermentation science, longevity, and the belief that gut health is the foundation of overall wellness.
